This is second episode in our examination of truth and lies. This week we’re exploring the lies we tell ourselves. Why do we do that and how can we figure out when we’re doing it? We talk to Dr. Cortney Warren, author of the book Lies We Tell Ourselves: The Psychology of Self-Deception. She talks with us about self-deception and how to combat it.
Dr. Cortney S. Warren is a retired Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) and an Adjunct Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Nevada School of Medicine. After earning her bachelor’s degree at Macalester College in 2000, Cortney received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Texas A&M University in 2006 after completing a clinical internship at McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School.
